As you can tell the site doesn't get that frequently updated. Partly because it didn't seem like people used it anyways (except for a select few). However, I have decided to relinquish the attendance back to Arizod from whom I inherited the job. It has been fun and hopefully I haven't made too many mistakes. Reasons for this are personal, part of it being on call randomly which means sometimes I can't make it, and other reasons.

Currently our record since 8/11/07 on Omega is 7 wins 2 losses. Our percentage is 77.78%. We unfortunately had our second loss to Omega, third overall since the inception of the shell. There were a couple of things we could do better next time.

1) The 4 legged form is kited. Please let our tanks gain hate (i.e. spam nin tools, provoke) while kiting BEFORE the BLMs gently nuke with Tier III. Remember we don't want the BLMs to gain hate. Mages stay as far out of AoE as possible. 4 legged form is pretty resistant to physical attacks.

2) The 2 legged form is straight tanked. Tanks line up so THF and /THF can plant hate. Tanks try not to move as much as possible as you know how tricky SATA can be. BLMs and RDMs keep up DoT. The 2 legged form is pretty resistant to magical damage.

3) WHMs and /WHM be prepared to remove status effects. They will not always show up on your screen so you need to memorize and be prepared to quickly remove as gravity, silence, paralyze can spell death for a tank. While kiting, unfortunately, you have to do your best to keep up with the kiters. BLMs and /DRK and DRK be prepared to stun Colossal Blow.

Hyper Pulse: AoE ~300 damage, Gravity and short Bind
Rear Lasers: Damage and Petrification, used when someone behind Omega gets hate
Ion Efflux: Cone Attack Paralysis
Stun Cannon: Cone Attack ~300 damage and Paralysis
Target Analysis: AoE Absorb-ALL, absorbed by Utsusemi
Floodlight: AoE ~300 damage, Blind and Silence, ignores Utsusemi
Colossal Blow: Massive damage that ignores Utsusemi can be STUNNED

4) Mages do your best to stay out of AoE range and also keep SS up as much as possible. If healers are going to rest, let fellow mages know so they can help cover healing.

5) If we have a massive wipe early on, one WHM and RDM devote yourself to keeping the tanks alive. Tanks please Kite if asked to much like the 4 legged form. Others focus on raising as quickly as possible.

6) Third form is resistant somewhat to both Physical and Magical Damage.

7) When you see a Gunpod say it in chat please as sometimes it is difficult to miss. We usually have a PLD on gun pod duty and BLMs take it down quickly.

8) Generally I've done Proto-Omega with a PLD/NIN on gunpod duty and two NIN/WAR trading hate to kite. Now that I think about it, I've also done it with PLD/NIN and NIN/WAR co-tanks (remember Kwontess). If you have suggestions about party formation please speak up prior to leaving. I won't be offended and take suggestions really well. After all I'm a hopeless party formation person.

9) Our win record is pretty good. We generally pull even ugly things off. Tonight we were a little off our kilter. We were missing a WHM and that makes it hard on the lone WHM (trust me I know. I was the sole WHM on our first Omega wipe). An early AoE flattened a lot of people. We didn't end up kiting after that AoE for a while and more people died. All in all, we managed to get him down to 20% even with everyone generally weakened.

Chalk this up to learning experience. A full briefing will be done prior to next Omega run to remind people about the different forms. I know some shells just straight tank Omega throughout. We could try this if people wanted. Otherwise we can just go with our generally winning formula and kick his ass the next time. Please leave any suggestions in the comment box.

Proto-Ultima #4 went much smoother than #3. Warford died off the bat in a bit of hilarity! Kenne did a great job as a PLD. Stunners did quite well. And our army of Red Mages and our sole WHM kept everyone going. Melees did great damage as normal. Citadel Buster still was aggravating, but we managed the win! And we finally saw a leg drop. Congratulations to hardworking Smoke and Shortie on their Nashira gear.

Chip update: We are 2 chips short of an Omega Set and 1 chip short of the tier 1 Ultima set. Next week Wednesday I propose we do either NW or NE Apollyon. The following Saturday do Temenos W (we tend to have more people on Sat and Temenos' can be evil). The following Wednesday complete the Omega set. And the following saturday do a Proto-Omega. After that we can start complete the Ultima set. Eventually if we get a large enough group of people coming consistently we can split groups up.

Note: I will be out of town this next week from Wednesday through Sunday since my sister is getting married. Kenne has volunteered to get Screen Shots of the attendance for me. Who knows when Aznmahavailo's computer will be fixed. Good luck all. Points are completely updated to the Proto-Ultima run. I should be back in time for Proto-Omega.

Highlights: This was RuinousOmen's second outing against Ultima. We managed to take him down in 32 minutes with some deaths along the way. We had a lot of stunners and this helped make the first 80% smooth sailing. It got a bit frantic at the end, but kudos to our PLDs Warford and Aznmahavailo for braving the front lines. Our brave melee, who ate some dirt, are greatly appreciated by us mages! Maybe next time we'll be brave enough for a crate.

Proto-Omega! And Another Heart

We entered Central Temenos 3rd Floor with Verrick's Ivory Chip. Things got a bit hairy near the end, but we managed to pull through with a win. The coin harvest and AF drops were nothing to write home about, but now we are 1/3 on an Ultima set. Plans are for Omega on Saturday.

Highlights: Verrick attempted to pull as WHM/SMN. However, his carby died after 1 hit. Moral of the story, don't ask Verrick to pull, he sucks!

Unfortunately I was unable to make the run due to time real life priorities. But it sounded like it went well. We are 3/4 of the way to an Omega Set. I don't have statistics on AF drops for this run, so if anyone can remember, can you post here?

I will be unable to make the Saturday run due to being on another island without FFXI available. Good luck on Saturday. Loren or Aznmahavailo can you post a SS of the attendance for the evening?

RuinousOmen Splits, but in a Good Way: Apollyon SE and SW

Today marks a new venture in RuinousOmen. We had a total of 18 people so we decided to work on two Omega sets at one time and split the group up. We decided to take on Apollyon SE (melee) and Apollyon SW (mages). Aznmahavailo led the Apollyon SW group and Loren/Toxicity headed up the Apollyon SE group. Yours truly got to play his favorite job, WHM again.

Attendance: Alinaaset, Aznmahavailo, Belgarath, Carolann, Cerene, Dubajaba, Fuha, Guivond, Kenne, Loren, Puretaru, Shortie, Smoke, Thetyphon, Toxicity, Vashstarwin, Verrick, and Xarxsis.

Highlights: Apollyon SE was decimated by Carolann, Cerene, Fuha, Kenne, Loren, Smoke, Toxicity, Vashstarwin, Verrick and Xarxsis. Smoke died ont he first mob after he trie dot single handedly kill the ameoba. A couple fluid tosses and he was toast. But we were able to walk away easily with the win!

Apollyon SW was attacked by Alinaaset, Aznmahavailo, Belgarath, Cerene, Dubajaba, Guivond, Purtaru, Shortie, and Thetyphon. They rocked it. To be on the safe side they took a few more time chests. But hey, we're that much closer to another Omega set or two!

Unfortunately Aznmahavailo was unable to zone into Port Jeuno without disconnecting so he unfortunately missed the run, but he was with us in spirit. We took on Temenos North.

RuinousOmen Verses Proto-Ultima (10/06/07)

What an auspicious return to doing Limbus. The night started out with a full crew of 19 people. After much discussion (2 hours worth) we decided to tackle Proto-Ultima which was good news for the Nashira Gear Crew. Thanks to the generosity of the people in the shell and their willingess to change jobs and try new things we ventured out to the unknown (to some of us).

Attendance: Aznmahavailo, Belgarath, Cerene, Dubajaba, Eldercid, Finuve, Guivond, Kenne, Larios, Loren, Lucas, Pandoras, Puretaru, Shortie, Smoke, Toxicity, Vashstarwin, Verrick, and Xarxsis.

Highlights: Pandoras and Aznmahavailo were our PLD/NINs and tanked Proto-Ultima. Aznmahavailo got to die multiple times, I think Pandoras only died once! Toxicity was able to come as SMN for the first time (that I've seen him). And Puretaru came as his WHM goodness. Proto-Ultima had deaths, but we managed to beat him without being totally humiliated ^^

Congratulations on the win guys and on Loren's BLM AF piece.

Ruinous Omen vs Proto-Omega (8/25/07)

Sorry I haven't been able to attend Limbus Runs in a while. I'm in the middle of a move to Hilo to join a pediatric practice there. As of now, I'm going to be without internet connection from August 31st until September 19th (yes things move slower on the other islands here in Hawaii). Ruinous Omen vs Proto-Omega (8/18/07)

Tonight the shell took on Proto-Omega. After a bit of an absence, Arizod made his comeback for our Omega battle. It was the first time we had all 4 Galka together again (Toxicity, Pelennor, Arizod, and Kenne). We had a semi-rough beginning, but people were able to pull it together and work well to achieve the win. We had some deaths along the way but the outcome was well worth it. Thank you guys for your patience and understanding. As well as the willingness to work with each other and with me as we sort ouf the attendance/priority lists.

Temenos West Tower (8/15/07)

Today we completed Temenos West successfully! Thank goodness for timely time chests. Aznmahavailo got the Emerald Chip. Good job everyone.

Present at the run:
Aznmahavailo (SMN), Dubajaba (DRK), Ehlana (BLM), Eldercid (WAR), Kenne (BLM), Kwontess (PLD), Kyliedawn (BLM), Loren (COR), Lucas (COR), Puretaru (BLM), Sillius (RDM), Verrick (WHM).

Highlights: We managed to kill off Dubajaba once again on his DRK! Go Team! He went after an Enhanced Pugil. He decided to do a SE and that left him with about 400 HP. While CureV was being cast on him, he got screwed literally by Screwdriver. Lucas Dc'd on the first floor, but came charging back for the rest of the run. Puretaru actually typed on the party chat. Of course it was just nuking times for the BLMs to cast on the Enhanced Slimes, but it was still a momentous occasion.
